We are pleased to invite students and early-career researchers to submit abstracts for presentation at the National Health Research Conference 2025. This event aims to provide a national platform for showcasing innovative research in medicine and allied health sciences, fostering collaboration, and promoting evidence-based clinical practice and public health initiatives. Please read the following instructions carefully before submitting your abstract:

1. Eligibility

Abstract submissions are open to undergraduate, postgraduate students and healthcare professionals from all disciplines of health and biomedical sciences. Abstracts must represent original research or novel case studies. Studies must be complete at the time of submission. Research proposals or projects that are still in progress will not be considered for presentation. Unpublished research is preferred to research projects that have already been published in a journal. Abstracts that are being considered for, will be presented at, or have already been presented at another conference are eligible for submission.

2. Conference Themes & Categories

We welcome submissions in the following broad domains: Medicine Surgery Oncology Public Health Pharmacology and Drug Development Other

Note: These categories are used solely to organize submissions for review. They are not strict divisions and will not influence the acceptance of your abstract.

 3. Types of Accepted Study Designs

We accept a range of study types which include:

Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analyses:
Must specify inclusion/exclusion criteria, search strategy, and pooled data analysis.

Case Reports:
Should present rare or novel cases with clear clinical relevance. Patient consent and ethical approval must be documented.

Case-Control Studies:
Describe criteria for group selection, matching methodology, and analysis.

Observational Studies (Cross-sectional, Cohort):
Include details of population sampling, variables measured, and study duration.

Pre/Post Studies Without Control Group:
Must clearly show baseline and post-intervention comparisons, preferably with statistical support.

4. Author and Presenter guidelines

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made a direct and substantial contribution to the writing of the abstract, preparation of the presentation, or will be actively involved in its delivery. However, to be eligible for presentation, the presenting author must be a current medical student or enrolled in an allied health sciences undergraduate program. It is not necessary for the presenting author to be listed first among the co-authors. A student may be listed as the presenting author on multiple abstracts, but if more than one is accepted, they will be allowed to present only one. In such cases, another eligible co-author must present the additional accepted abstracts.

5. Abstract Structure Guidelines

Each abstract must be structured into the following subsections:

Title: Clear and concise, reflecting the core of the research.

Authors & Affiliations: Full names of all authors with institutional affiliations and email of the corresponding author.

Introduction/Background: Brief context and rationale; state the knowledge gap.

Objective(s): Clearly define the primary aim(s) of the study.

Methods: Study design, sample size, setting, duration, statistical tools, and ethical approval (if applicable).

Results: Summarize key findings. Use numerical data with appropriate statistical interpretation.

Conclusion: Interpret your results and state their potential implications.

Keywords: 3–5 keywords relevant to your study.

Disclosure/Conflict of Interest: Must be declared if applicable.

Supplementary Material:  Authors may choose to include one original figure or table to support the results presented in their abstract. This is optional and will not influence the evaluation or acceptance of the submission. Abstracts without a figure or table are assessed equally to those that include one. Only original figures or tables are permitted. Any figure or table must be free of patient identifiers or any information that could compromise confidentiality, such as names, medical record numbers, or unmasked clinical images.

6. Abstract Format & Submission Structure:

Abstracts should be structured as follows:
Background | Objectives | Methods | Results | Conclusion

Word Limit: Maximum 300 words (excluding title, author info, and keywords).

Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

Spacing: 1.5 line spacing

Margins: 1-inch on all sides

File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

File Naming Format:
Abstract_FirstAuthorLastName_ShortTitle.docx
Example: Abstract_Ali_DiabetesTrends.docx

Language: English only.

7. Review Process

All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by a Scientific Review Committee based on: Scientific merit Originality and novelty Clarity and organization Relevance to the stated categories Ethical considerations

Note: All abstracts will be screened for originality. Submissions with plagiarized content will be disqualified.

Abstract Submission Checklist

Please ensure all items are completed prior to submission.

Author & Abstract Information

The title is specific, clear, and no longer than 20 words. It reflects the content and type of study (e.g., “A Cross-Sectional Study of…”). Full names of all authors listed in proper order (First Name, Last Name). Author affiliations are complete, including institution, department, city, and country. The corresponding author is clearly identified, with an active email and phone number.

Abstract Formatting & Structure

The abstract adheres to the word limit of 300 words (excluding title, author information, and keywords). A structured format is used, including the following headers: Background Objectives Methods Results Conclusion If submitting a case report, it should include: Introduction Case Presentation Discussion Conclusion The abstract is written in English, using Times New Roman, 12-point font, with 1.5 line spacing and 1-inch margins on all sides. Submission is in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). File is named according to the required format:

 Abstract_FirstAuthorLastName_ShortTitle.docx

e.g., Abstract_Ali_DiabetesTrends.docx Figure or table may be included (only one is allowed), however it is optional. Abbreviations to be minimized and spelled out at first mention. SI units are used throughout.

 Content & Language Quality

The title is phrased, not a full sentence, and clearly conveys the focus of the study. The background provides context and explains the study’s rationale. The objective clearly outlines what the research aimed to accomplish. The methods section clearly describes study design, setting, participant criteria, interventions (if any), analysis tools, and limitations. The results are well-defined and include descriptive and inferential data (use SD for means, IQR for medians, and exact p-values unless <0.0001). The conclusion summarizes findings and discusses their implications. The abstract demonstrates originality and avoids widely covered or redundant topics. The writing is clear, grammatically correct, and free of spelling errors. There are no citations and references. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited and will lead to disqualification.
